We were delighted to welcome Zoolab back yesterday, where pupils from Year 1 to Year 6 had an unforgettable experience meeting a variety of fascinating animals. From a tree frog and African land snail to a millipede, gerbil, tarantula, and more, it was a hands-on opportunity to learn about the natural world. As we celebrate the Year of St Francis, it was a wonderful reminder of his love for animals and the importance of caring for all living things.

The children and staff of St Aidan's wee invited to 'dress funny' for red nose day. We had some great costumes and raised £130 for charity. We even held a 'funniest joke' competition.

Friendship and community were the themes when we celebrated this year’s World Book Day on Thursday 5 March. Today, Wednesday 4th March, we enjoyed celebrating the Hindu festival of Holi in school. Holi is known as the Festival of Colours and is celebrated by Hindus around the world. It marks the arrival of spring and symbolises joy, new beginnings, and the triumph of good over evil. During Holi, people come together to celebrate with music, dancing, and by throwing brightly coloured powders as a sign of happiness and unity. We held our yearly Christmas lunch for parishioners of our local church and school community. Some of our Minnie Vinnies were on hand to help out and Years 3 and 4 entertained with songs from their Christmas performance.

Years 5 and 6 had a great time at Jarrow Hall yesterday learning about life as an Anglo-Saxon. They learn about conflict during that period and what it was like to live in an Anglo-Saxon Settlement

Year 6 had an a at Safety Works learning about peer pressure and consequences of their behaviour. They also learnt how to be safe on the internet, water safety and dog safety awareness. 13 likes
