Earth Day 2026
Happy Earth Day from St Aidan's Yesterday, our school was buzzing with activities dedicated to protecting our planet. It was a wonderful day of action and reflection across all year groups: EYFS headed out on a litter pick to keep our grounds beautiful. Year 1 got messy making seed bombs to support our local bees and butterflies. Year 3 designed powerful posters advocating for renewable energy. Our students beautifully connected these actions to Catholic Social Teachings

'Take yourself funny' for Red nose day 2026.
The children and staff of St Aidan's wee invited to 'dress funny' for red nose day. We had some great costumes and raised £130 for charity. We even held a 'funniest joke' competition.

World Book Day at St Aidan's
Friendship and community were the themes when we celebrated this year’s World Book Day on Thursday 5 March. Children across all year groups at St Aidan’s Catholic Primary took part in a range of book-based activities inspired by Joseph Coelho’s The Tower . “Through this book, children learned about empathy, creativity, resilience, and the importance of working together. Holi Festival 2026
Today, Wednesday 4th March, we enjoyed celebrating the Hindu festival of Holi in school. Holi is known as the Festival of Colours and is celebrated by Hindus around the world. It marks the arrival of spring and symbolises joy, new beginnings, and the triumph of good over evil. During Holi, people come together to celebrate with music, dancing, and by throwing brightly coloured powders as a sign of happiness and unity.
